4 Natural skin care recipes For Healthy Glowing Skin.

Natural skincare is all the rage right now and for a good reason. People are steering away from harmful synthetic chemical-laden skincare products and looking for a safer, gentler natural alternative.

Natural skincare treatment is easier to find (you can source many ingredients from your kitchen) and safer. Below are some gentle natural skin care recipes that will help you in achieving the healthy glowing skin of your dreams.

Gentle Oatmeal Cleanser

Both natural skincare experts and dermatologists agree that oatmeal is one of the most gentle and effective ingredients to relieve skin sensitivity and irritation. An oatmeal cleanser is a great alternative to face cleansing with harsh soaps that strip away the skin, leaving it feeling dry. The anti-inflammatory properties of oatmeal soothe the skin while gently exfoliating dead skin cells.

Blend a few tablespoons of oatmeal to blend into a fine powder. Prepare the oatmeal cleanser by mixing two tablespoons of the powdered oatmeal with enough water or milk to make a paste and sufficiently dampen the oatmeal. Rub the paste in gentle circular motions to exfoliate. Rinse your face with cool water.

Tip: Avoid using oatmeal cleanser over the sink because the paste can clog the drain.

Green Tea Eye Mask

Treat puffy eyes in a pinch with a green tea eye mask that is safe, effective, and extremely easy to make. The caffeine in the green tea acts as a de-puffer, tea is also rich in anti-oxidants such as tannins and flavonoids that have excellent anti-inflammatory properties.

You make your mask, steep two teabags of green tea as you would normally if you were going to drink tea. Take the tea bags out of tea after steeping and squeeze out the excess tea from the bags. Allow the containers to cool down before putting them in the refrigerator for 10 -20 minutes, or until chilled. Apply the chilled teabags to your closed eyes for 15 to 20 minutes.

This eye mask is also great for distressing at the end of the day.

Yogurt Face Mask

Another great natural recipe for irritated, red skin is a yogurt mask due to its soothing, anti-inflammatory features. Yogurt is an easy to find, effective ingredient that is also an anti-fungal which can help treat and prevent acne.

Yogurt is naturally rich in lactic acid, which can dissolve dead skin cells gently to reveal glowing skin.

You can make a soothing yogurt face mask by mixing 1/3 cup of cooked oatmeal with two tablespoons of plain, natural yogurt. Apply the mask on your face for 15 to 20 minutes and rinse your face with lukewarm water.

Oatmeal is also great for calming irritated skin.

Avocado Mask

The simple, delicious, and nutritious avocado is also great for treating dry, flaky skin. Avocados are naturally rich in good fats and oils that soften and moisturize dry skin. Avocadoes are also high for sensitive skin because avocadoes are non-irritating.

Honey works in combination with the avocado to moisturize the skin.
