RTO Red Tape

Business and Regulatory Risk Workshops

For Registered Training Organisations

In 2008 AgriFood Skills Australia commissioned a project, co-funded by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) to develop a framework for managing regulatory risk across the agri-food industry.

The framework was tested successfully with the seafood industry and the guidance materials developed were well received. Information on the materials produced is available - to view the materials please CLICK HERE

The materials are aimed at facilitating attendees to gain a recognised competency in risk management. In each of our recent industry consultation workshops across Australia, one of the key issues identified was regulation. We see an opening for RTO’s to deliver to an identified market.

As a follow-up to our project and to set RTO’s up to meet identified industry needs we are proposing to run a series of risk workshops for RTO’s in each major capital city during the period March to June 2009.

The purpose of the workshops is to acquaint attendees with contemporary techniques for managing business risk generally and regulatory risk specifically. The workshop will be hands on and will introduce the methods to deliver the risk materials to RTO clients.

Risk Workshops

These provide a free training program that will give primary produces a solution to manage the diversity of risk in agribusiness – now and into the future. The following compliance risks will be addressed through the use of an integrated system:

  • Environmental Management
  • Animal Welfare
  • Food Safety
  • Occupational Health and Safety
Why Attend?

1. Learn how to teach How To Manage Risk Generally

This program will take you step by step through the Australian Risk Management Standard 4360 Risk Management. This Standard has proven so popular and robust, the process has been adopted for the first International Standard on risk management, currently in draft for issue in 2009.
