Agrifood industries generate more than $200 billion a year, which represent in the order of 46 per cent of retail sales and roughly 20 per cent of exports. Up to 880,000 people work in the agri-food sector, comprising some 140,000 separate enterprises.

The council operates in collaboration with other industry skills councils, training providers and brokers, companies and producers as well as all three tiers of government.
